12 Über-Cool Umbrellas

January 20, 2010

I have no idea what’s up with the weather. One minute it’s drizzly and grey, then temporarily torrential, then within the same hour — Sahara Desert. WTH?

Well, whatever the weather, it seems an umbrella is a smart accessory these days for women who refuse to get wet or ummm… wrinkly, as the case may be. Here are some really cool ones I wouldn’t mind carrying around:

1. The “Shit, It’s Raining” Umbrella

…because I rather enjoy stating the obvious. And cursing. :)

2. The Batbrella

Holy wow! If you don’t want one, there’s seriously something wrong with you. [Source]

3. The “F*** The Rain” Umbrella

Yeah, that’s right. I’m talkin’ to YOU, sky! [Source]

4. The Heart Umbrella

…to make up for all the cursing :) [Source]

5. The Smoker’s Umbrella

You have to be a smoker — who’s stood outside in all sorts of inclement weather just to get a nic fix at a non-smoker’s house — to understand just how awesome this is. It even comes in a cigarette-shaped tin. [Source]

6. PILEUS: The Internet Umbrella

I’m not sure how SAFE it is walk around a busy street with this, but it’s a must-have nevertheless. Pileus is an umbrella connected to the Internet. It has a large screen on the top surface, a built-in camera, a motion sensor, GPS, and a digital compass. [Source]

7. The DIY Electric Umbrella

This is really pretty but bear in mind you actually have to MAKE it, ok? [Here’s how]

.. Yeah, I thought so. Skip to the next one instead….

8. The Light Saber Umbrella

Known to some as as the Nerdbrella, but still very cool. [Source]

9. Water Pistol Umbrella

So COOL! This funnel shaped umbrella harnesses the flow of rainwater down into its handle, a water pistol. The user can fire at will, maintaining a constant flow of water as long as rain continues to fall. [Source]

10. The Nubrella

If you don’t mind people pointing, staring… and perhaps giggling… at you, then the NuBrella is “The Ultimate Weather Protector” — protecting against rain, wind, sleet, snow and extreme cold.  [Source]

11. The Polite Umbrella

The Polite Umbrella is a shrinkable umbrella that enables you to morph its shape to reduce occupied space and increase maneuverability. You can adjust it any time by pulling a handle to protect yourself from harsh winds …or lawsuits stemming from poking others in the eye. [Source]

12. The UNbrella

The UNbrella is actually just a collapsible umbrella skeleton without any surface. You can use anything — newspapers, plastic bags or whatever you have on hand — to serve as the protective surface. [Source]

Stay dry!

I want one with the middle finger, and one with the heart. Then, I could decide which one to take out each day, based on my feelings toward the world.

Brilliant post :) You should include umbrella with google maps integrated and Cool Samurai Umbrella. Those looks really amazing.

The “F*** The Rain” Umbrella is my favorte, though it looks pretty agressive in the hands of the little girl..
